no, it isnt just low res. its 1024 wide, which isn't that small. and look at the text proportional to the icons. they're fucking huge.

actually everything looks proportionally bigger compared to my screen
the text itself is larger and the start menu definitely is

also 1024x600 is in no way a large screen

Yes, that's my netbook, and since the screen is so small, the icons are larger to compensate. I used to expand my desktop to a 1280x1024 monitor at home, but my brother is using it for his computer now. Fag.

the proportions are definitely not the same as default. the text is the normal size.
and yes the display is small.
i did not say that 1024x600 was large. i said it wasn't that small.

2. i didn't replace the terminal interface, i added xorg and a window manager on top of a basic platform. i still use a terminal quite often. it's quite different anyway, to compare putting a wm on linux to replacing explorer on windows.

If his resolution can go higher than 1024x600 his resolution is too low.

It can't, he's using a netbook.

Well then he should find something to make his icons smaller.

It can, but only on an external monitor, which I don't have access to at the moment...
